About
After growing up in Fort Collins, Colorado, I moved to Atlanta to attend Emory University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Art History and Studio Art. As an undergraduate at Emory, I studied abroad in Cortona, Italy with the University of Georgia’s studio art program, during which time clay became my primary artistic interest. My senior thesis entitled "Visions of Faith in Clay" combined my art history research and work in ceramics and received the award of highest honors. After completing my Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) at Colorado College in 2008, I taught introductory art, AP 3D art, and advanced ceramics, sculpture, and photography classes at high schools in Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL for six years (2008-2014). In 2014, I moved to Boston, MA with my wife to pursue post graduate work focused in ceramic sculpture. I completed a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Ceramics at Rhode Island School of Design in May, 2016. I recently completed a residency at Mudflat Studios in Somerville, MA and I am currently teaching ceramics and sculpture at Milton Academy in Milton, MA.
